time i downloaded the 64bit but realized my error b4
installing it. 2nd time i did install the 32 bit w/the
same error msg! my pc manufacturer told me i had
a 'crack' copy of my os, but i purchased it thru my
college.
i tried calling ms and they verified that it is a volume

Since you didn't post in a previous thread or quote any part of the
original thread, no one knows what you are talking about. My guess from
your rather unclear posting above is that you will need to go to the
store and buy a legitimate copy of Windows XP. Back up your data and do
a clean install.
