Hi all,

I have thoroughly read through others issues with installing DirectX 9.0 and
Windows Updates and getting the error about the Windows Logo. I have tried
everything in the Troubleshooter, and everything people have suggested, and
still nothing. I have been unable to install updates for months now due to
this problem, and now I am trying my hardest to find a solution. If anyone
has any more suggestions, I am totally open to them.

Thanks!

First, make sure your PC is clean of parasites and/or viruses. Then, install WinXP SP2.
This will install DirectX9.0c

You haven't been able to go to the Windows Update website and install the
critical updates? That is not good. There are numerous security issues
that are dealt with by those critical updates. You are saying that because
you have not been able to install DirectX 9.0 you can not download and
install the Windows Updates? I have never heard of that. The installation,
or not, of DirectX 9.0 should have nothing to do with your ability to
download and install Windows Updates. Go to the Windows Update website and
try manually downloading the updates. Post back with results. Or lack
thereof.
