Help with Directx install!

S

Sanders..

I've installed a new sofware on my computer that requires DirectX 9.0 or
higher which I did dowload and install sucesfully but for an unknow reason it
has not taken effect in my PC because everytime I try to run the software the
message stiil pops up, requesting DirectX 9.0 or higher. How do I resolve
that issue? How do I change my current DirectX software to the 9.0 or higher?
I am currently using Windows Xp. Please Help.

If the direct X end user run-time downloads opens & runs, you should see
the files getting installed in the Direct X window. If youre sure its a
Direct X
problem,try a diffrent type of update,Direct X redistributable.Get this at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...56-c91a-4a8e-8bb8-9f20f1244a8e&DisplayLang=en
After the download is complete, open, browse to a empty folder in my documents
or similiar, open folder, browse to the installation icon (.exe) open,it'll
self install.
Once its installed, empty or delete the folder,xp doesnt need it after
that...

Got to Start > Run > dxdiag. It will tell you the version of DirectX
installed, and you can test it to see if it's functioning properly with
your video card.

Hello Andrew,
I followed the instruction you provided but I am not
seeing the installation icon (.exe) on all the files I extracted when I
dowload it. Could it be under something else? Thank you for your help, it is
highly appreciated.

Hello Ian D.
I ran the test and the note shows they were sucessfull. It
shows that my current DirectX is the 9.0c but I am still unable to run the
software because it requires 9.0 or higher. And I am also seeing a 5.0
version, is there a place to go switch it to 9.0?

Sounds like the software is junk. Go to the website of the maker of the
software and get assistance from their help and support. It's their junk and
they should help with the install. One other thing, if you installed the
software before you had DX9 installed, you may have to uninstall the
software, reinstall DX9 and reboot. Install the software AFTER DX9.
