I'm having trouble getting windows to load.
A couple of days ago a blue screen popped up saying something about Bad pool
caller?? it "dumped" the memory or something like that, and now when i turn
the computer on, a screen saying missing file
(\windows\system32\config\system) keeps coming up. ive tried a few
"solutions" but unfortunately they have not worked. I have tried to boot from
the disk but it didnt work (i did change the boot sequence in the bios
settings). I have also tried to use a Windows XP startup floppy disk. that
didnt work either. it kept saying something about the ntdetect??? i tried to
access the windows installation cd through command prompt by using a windows
98 boot disk but the only directory i could access on the cd was the
MIC_0001. I checked through that directory thouroughly and couldnt find the
windows files to replace the missing/corrupt file. I have tried to reach the
recovery console but am unable to do that. I even tried to put another
formatted working hard drive into the computer to access the dud drive. but
cannot get past a startup option screen (start windows normally/in safe
mode/with netwroking/last known working configuration settings). every time i
try to select an opption the computer will restart and bring me back to
square one. The hard drive in question is a serial ata drive and i am unable
to plug it into another computer as they dont have the neccessary
connections. I have read through several forums but none have a solution to
my problem and i am unable to find a microsoft help file. i am not sure
whether this problem is due to conflicting drivers, software or hardware. Any
ideas on how to fix this problem would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Jez
