Hi,
I have Windows Vista Home Premium.
When I turn on computer it starts configuring 3 updates which takes about 15 mins.
Then it shuts itself down and starts up again in Recovery Mode and then goes on to Startup Repair which takes about 5 mins to run.
This has been happens every time I turn on my computer.
It started about two days ago.
It means I'm having to wait about 20 mins whenever I want to use my computer.
When I look for the updates in the list there is no sign of them.

What on earth is happening and how do I fix it?

I'm not a Vista user but a good place to start with pc problems like this is to run a full virus check and a malaware check.

Thanks for your replies.
Finally sorted it in the wee small hours of this morning.
I had updater on the let me choose which updates to download option.
I downloaded all the important updates and fingers cossed, I'm up and running again.
Only problem now is I keep getting the message SYMANTEC FRAMEWORK HAS STOPPED WORKING.
I have Norton on my computer. Does it mean that has stopped working?
I have checked it and everything seems to be ok but I still keep getting the message when I startup my computer.

Oooo Norton is a swear word here. Not many people like it all mate. Takes up far too many resources!
But if you like it I guess it's upto you ;)
