Startup items

I have disabled a number of old (no longer used) items in my startup
(msconfig), but of course they are still in the list, and I would like to
clean it up. How can I remove them from the list, rather than just
disabling them?

You can download and run the script from this web site to
remove the disabled startup entries.

You can also do the same thing manually.
Go to Start -> Run and enter regedit.exe in the Open box.
Click OK.
In the Registry Editor, navigate to this registry key,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared
Tools\MSConfig\startupfolder

In the right hand pane, right click any item you want to remove
and select Delete from the menu.
Do the same for this registry key,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared
Tools\MSConfig\startupreg

Close the Registry Editor.

Good luck
