Startup Issues

I am using PowerPoint 2007 and have a small issue. Its more of an annoyance,
but when ever a launch PowerPoint it does not open the default template. the
only way for me to start working it to go into the menu and manually open a
template. Other people in my office have it so it auto launches their
default templte.

How do i set my PP to auto launch the default template when i start the
program?

Thank you

You need two things to save a default template. 1) It must be saved in the
correct location. 2) it must be named Blank.POT or Blank.POTX.

Open the file you want to save as your default template.

Office Button | Save As.

Choose POTX in the "save as type" dropdown box. This takes you to the
correct folder to save your file in. Or you can navigate to the appropriate
folder:

Vista: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates

Name the file Blank or Blank.POTX

Click Save.

Echo,

This sort of worked for me. I got this function to work correctly on my
computer, and it now displayed my work tempate just fine. I did the same
steps on another computer in our office but it does not open the work
template or even a blank one. And when i undid it did not open anything. I
would have to hit "New" in order to get a presentation to work on.

Any ideas?

I'd make sure you don't have a Blank.POT file lurking in that folder, too.
I've been seeing this in some environments.

Head to the folder in question and delete anything named Blank. Then try
saving your default file again.
