Template v. Theme Default Display in PPT 2007

When launching new PPT 2007 files from a template, the tooltip displayed when
you hover in front of the first (i.e. active) Theme thumbnail on the Design
Tab (as well as in the Themes Gallery) displays the name of the template
initially. The thumbnail's visual does match the active theme, but there
appears to be no other indication of which theme is active, until you click
that theme's other thumbnail, further accross the tab, or down in the full
gallery. Only then does that first thumbnail's tooltip display the name of
the Theme. What if the user doesn't know the Theme's by their thumbnail
images? I'm developing a template which generates files with our company
default theme active. I'd like people to know they're in that theme, without
their having to go refresh it by clicking a thumbnail. Is this possible? Have
I perhaps bungled a setting somewhere? It seems to be true even when
launching from a blank template, with only Built in Themes available.

Down at the bottom left of the screen, you see the theme name on any of the
templates/themes that install with PPT. This is actually the name of the
master slide. Name the master the same as the theme, and that should do the
trick.

Optimally we will have one template for structure, and nine themes for
variations in color, and a few images on the master slide such as our logo.
Let's say the template is called FirmWide.potx. My themes need to be called
Blue, Green, Red, Graph, Columns, Map, Spiral, etc. I don't want the master
slide name to match one particular theme, because the end user has the option
to choose alternative themes. They'll know their file is based on FirmWide,
because they will have selected that upon creation. I need them to know the
default theme they're in so they can change it if necessary. The
template/theme indicator on the status bar does the same thing as the first
gallery setting: shows the template name upon creation, and the theme only
when it is subsequently re-applied. Is it that there's no way around this?

Down at the bottom left of the screen, you see the theme name on any of the
templates/themes that install with PPT. This is actually the name of the
master slide. Name the master the same as the theme, and that should do the
trick.
