Startup hangs on mup.sys

I have a win2k server that hangs during every startup attempt. The safemode
line it stops at is mup.sys.
i have tried swapping memory. Any other ideas appreciated.

How long have you waited for it to continue? Mine can take a few
minutes to get past here sometimes.
