startup changes

2.4 P-4, running on a asus p4-533S with a st340014a barracuda HD, 440 MX
nVIDIA VIDEO CARD, 512 DDR build 2600 sp-2. When I restart my computer, it
starts with different desktoip, forgets my mail server settings, and seems
to be a different computer. When starting, it gives me the windows startup
screen the the monitor cuts off for a few seconds (goes into power-saving
mode), then starts with the wrong settings. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.

From the description provided, it sounds like the nVidia video card driver
needs to be updated. Check the nVidia support site for the appropriate
