I tried upgrading my PC from Windows 2000 to XP and
failed. After that anytime I reboot/restart my computer
I get the operating system menu screen prompting me to
select either "Windows 2000 operating system" or "Windows
XP setup". What should I do to permanently delect the
Windows XP Setup menu from my computer so that I do not
see this menu again during startup/reboot/restart?

- Start a Command Prompt.
- Type this command: notepad c:\boot.ini
- Remove the offending line.
- Save & exit.

You can either go into Control Panel/System/Advanced/
Startup and Recovery/ and uncheck the first option box
(make sure Win2K is set as your default OS), or you can
manually edit c:\boot.ini (remove the file attributes first)
and delete the line for XP. If you aren't sure how to edit
boot.ini I'd recommend the first choice above.

Delete the entry for the Windows XP from c:\boot.ini.
Note that it is a hidden file.

If you look in your C:drive root folder for a file
called "boot.ini" (hidden file) and open that with
notepad.exe, you will be able to see and delete that entry
for good.

Hope that helps.
