Yesterday (after reading a thread this group) I thought I would setup a new
partition on my hard drive to dual boot (from the existing XP Pro) and
Vista. I made a new partition using Gparted and started the install of
Vista on the new partition. A few minutes into the install and the system
wanted to do a reboot (15 seconds counted down and the system restarted). I
was then presented with a boot loader menu Vista or Earlier operating
system. I selected Vista and it came up with an error something. I had no
option but to quit out of it. I rebooted and the Vista setup (from DVD)
started again. I went through the setup to the same point again when it
restarted and shwed me the bnoot loader menu again. This time it had Vista
listed twice (along with Earlier operating system).
Im not sure why its failing at this point, but I would like to know if I can
get rid of Vista and the boot menu and leave the system back as it was for
now?
Anyone any suggestions of how I can get it working, or remove Vista and the
boot loader menu, which only allows me to start XP (Earlier operating
system).
Thanks a lot
