Start Menu Picture

I know how to change the pictures used in the start menu for XP. Is there a
way to eliminate both the name and picture from the menu? My thanks in
advance for any help out there!

Not unless you go to the classic view for the Start Menu. Right click the
start button and select Classic View.

In XP Pro,

To remove the name from the Start Menu, go to Start, Run, and type
gpedit.msc. Go to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Start Menu
and Taskbar, and 'Remove username from Start Menu' is fourth from the
bottom.
