standby not operating

hi

had a nightmare virus so reloaded xp from the disk. all seemed fine but i do
not have a standby option anymore just turn off and restart.. can anyone tell
me how to make the standby mode operational

Since you reinstalled Windows there's a good chance you're not
using the latest drivers for your hardware. You might want to
take a look in the tech support area of your PC manufacturer's
web site for updated drivers. Make sure you are using the
latest drivers for you video adapter.
