Stand by?

Just got XP Prof upgraded from 2000 prof. on a dell latitude c610 ( pentium 3
@ 1.2 ghz and a gig of ram). Problem is that the computer will not function
properly after coming back from stand by. Its sluggish and things dont open,
also overall opertaions seem a bit slower. Hibernate, shut down, logging off
and in, all work just fine, just stand by causes a problem. Please help.

Well exactly how long does it continue at this "sluggish" rate...because many
pentium 3 laptops can't handle the excess memory usage that is taken up while
running the Xp Proffessional version after being in stand-by
phase...depending on how you have your preformance options set it may run
faster if you adjust your cessor schelduling to Background Services, and your
Memory usage to System cache instead of programs...let me know if this has
any effect on your problem
