hibernate/stand by

Hi, I recently restored windows on my lap-top computer after a fatal crash.
Everything is back to normal, but the option hibernate/stand by has
disappeared from power option< control panel. So consequently when I turn
off my computer I cannot click on the hibernatie/stand by icon anymore, and I
can only restart or turn off. What can I do to retrieve/ install this
function. I have tried everything. Thanks

Well.. the hibernate function needs to be enabled in power options or
somewhere else.
but stand by should always be there.
To turn on hibernate, hold down shift while choosing if you use the GUI
version instead of the menu version.
