Win XP SP2. When trying to Turn Off Computer the Stand By button is greyed
out and inoperable, so you cannot place computer on Hibernate either. The
other two buttons Turn Off and Restart do appear and work well.
Start-> Turn Off Computer -> Stand By (Non-operable) - Turn Off - Restart
How can I fix this. I looked at the KB but could not find a solution.

Hi Felito,

A greyed out Standby button is usually indicative of a video driver problem.
Reinstall or update your video driver and see if that solves the problem.

Hi Patty,
Sorry I could not replay sooner. But I had a difficult time finding the
proper drivers to install. My computer is old and had to chase the
motherboard manufacturer to find the proper udate to the graphic driver and
the CRT also required some lookin for the proper driver.
But finally I was able to get the drivers and install them.
Just as you said that solved the problem. Ican either place the computer in
Stand By or Hibernate.
Thanks for your help and assistance.
