Computer Wont Stay in Stand by

Challenger

Using Windows XP Home edition on a Dell Dimension 2400. Recently installed
MS Office Professional 2003 software and upgraded/installed SP3 and all other
recommended windows upgrades. Love the new software, everything works great
except that the computer won't stay in stand by. Sometimes it will stay in
stand by for hours, other times it comes out of stand by in minutes all by
itself.

Read, reviewed and done everything that I could find in articles and
community, except for changing bios. I'm not savy enough to be confident
about making changes to bios.

Is there some other "little" fix I might be missing?

Hard to say unless you're a little more specific on what you've
already tried.

Have you examined your "Wake-on-Lan" settings of your network card?
(Start->Run->devmgmt.msc) Double-click on your network adapter then
click on the "Advanced" tab. Examine your "Wake-on-..." settings.

HTH,
John
