Spyware that isn't removed w/ MS Spyware

Hi. I have been running MS Spyware detection software on
a daily basis. After the first run, every day it stated
that there were no new problems. Today, I ran
Spybot's "Search & destroy," and it found 8 problems from
6 companies, specifically one problem from each of the
following: Link Synergy; Advertising. com; Avenue A. Inc;
DoubleClick; FastClick, MediaPlex; and three problems
associated with HitBox. Is there some reason why MS
spyware detection hasn't been catching these problems? Is
it just that these are not really problems or is the
software not catching them? If it is the latter, is there
something I should do to better protect my computer from
these instances of spyware? Thanks.

Hi

Well, Spybot and Adaware, wellknown freebies also detects
tracking cookies, I think above is just cookies.

MSAS, Beta 1 don´t search for tracking cookies but maybe in
future MS says.

With MSAS you have a strong real time protection so keep both
MSAS and Spybot.

You newer know with MS about tracking cookies............ ;)

Thank you for your reply. I didn't make a distinction. I
thought the way that spyware worked was by placing
cookies on one's machines. Now I see that it is deeper
than that. Still, I would feel better protected if the
cookies were not there. After I remove them, they are
back the next time I check. Thanks again for your reply.

Hi R,

Cookies are a pain and to many a privacy issue. In the Beta1 version, the
program doesn't go into the cookie jar, nor does it chase data miner
objects.
