Spyware Signatures Error Updating

Has anyone seen this.

Spyware will not update after virus:

Last week I caught a new Varient of W32.Gaobot
Mcafee and Symantec would not detect it. They do now only
after I submitted it. It now has detected two viruses it
has named Britney.exe and Timesync.exe. It has removed
them from my system.

The problem now is that my spyware defininitions will not
update since the last updat on the 17th of june. There
have been several updates since. The last being June 20th.

I have reinstalled the spyware and still not working.
Whatever this (worm/trojan/bot) did it also made it so
future updates would not detect it. I have removed the
Viruses, but beleive there maybe be additional spyware
left on machine. How do you correct the update issue???

The first step is ensuring that the system is clean. Restoring MWAS'
updating capability comes after that. Specifically, which variant of the
worm did McAfee and Symantec identify it as ?
