Spell Checker Problems With Outlook 2007

The email spell checker on Outlook 2007 appears not to work for me. I type
in a deliberate spelling mistake and hit F7. I then simply get the message
"The spelling check is complete" - the mistake goes unnoticed. I have worked
out that this is because my email signature is inserted with some sort of
"Do not spell check this section" attribute. The trouble is, I type into the
middle of my signature, because it is of the form:

Hello

Thank you for your email.

<<I type the main text here>>

Regards

Chas

This problem is new, Outlook 2003 and earlier worked fine. Is there any way
around this?

Also, I too have come up against the problem (reported yesterday by rvacha)
of plain text emails being sent out complete with spelling mistakes, even
though you have seemingly corrected them. These issues can be very
embarrassing for the sender. Does anyone at Microsoft care about these
problems?
