Outlook 2007 Spell Checker

There is a bug in the spell checker for Outlook 2007 when "check spelling on
send" is selected. The spell checker goes thru the text and changes are
made. However, when the file is sent to the outbox, all of the error return.
Does anybody have a fix for this?

are the messages getting autosaved before sending?

The autosave feature is turned on, and then message goes directly into my
outbox after it spell checking is done.

there was a bug in some versions where changes did not take effect following
an autosave until it was saved again - I'm thinking this is what is
happening to you although I thought that bug was not in 2007. Try hitting
save before sending and see if it fixes it - let us know either way.

The emailer automatically sends the message as soon as spell checking is
done, and therefore a save is not possible. If I run the spell checker
manually before pressing send, the changes are permanent and the message in
the outbox is fine.

I have sent this issue to our IT group. They indicate that this is a
problem reported by several users at our institution and is a software bug.

I am having the same problem. It is driving me nuts. I cannot get in
the habit of manually spell checking before sending (nor should I have
to). I prefer hitting send, correcting in spell check, and off it
goes. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't have a solution yet. Our IT group passed this up the chain and
apparently is discussing this with MS (we have a site license). THere is a
major problems with the new EXCEL too.

I turned off in the options html mail. I changed that setting back to
html and now spell check works fine. It would not work when my mail
was set to text.

I am having the same problem with the plain text option. When I changed the
option to HTML or Rich Text the spell checker works correctly. Otherwise,
when in Plain Text mode the spell checker will behave as normal (finding and
changing spellings) until the email is sent, and then the words appear as
they were never corrected when viewed in the Outbox or Sent folder.

Please allow me to go further back. I installed Office 2007 pro and the word
spelling check was automatically, as expected working with outlook. Now it
works with word, but no longer does so in outlook. The check in outlook
indicates that it is complete and has found no errors at all every time. I
tested this manually with typos and they were all missed. sounds simple, but
I cannot correct this and really need help.

Thanks,

blue chip blues

I found a solution to the problem that is not a quick fix cover up.
Just as a preface i was using an XP machine but it should work on
vista as well.

1. Open Outlook
2. Goto Tools
3. Trust Center
4. Add-Ins Menu (left pane)
5. Manage (bottom of window) -> select disabled Add-Ins -> go
6. Look for Add-In relating to speller or checker

have fun :)
