Speech Recognition turns off when switching to battery power

This problem only occurs when I am running a Vista Business Edition laptop on
battery power.

If I have "Speech Recognition" running and in the "Sleeping" mode and then
unplug the AC adapter the "Speech Recognition" goes to the "Off" mode
immediately and you can't turn it back on with the voice command "Start
Listening". However, when I plug the AC adapter back in to the computer the
"Speech Recognition" automatically goes back to "Sleeping". Now, if I have
"Speech Recognition" in the "Listening" mode and then unplug the AC Adapter
the "Speech Recognition" program maintains its current "Listening" mode and
works fine until I give the comman to "Stop Listening" after which it goes
into the "Off" mode instead of the "Sleeping" mode. Again, I only have this
problem while running the computer on battery. Everything works fine while
connected to AC.

I have tried this on three different laptops running Vista Business Edition
and get the same results.

I have tried changing my power options to full performance etc. while on
battery with no resolution.

Does anyone know the resolution for this?

Thank you,
