Can someone help me- my speakers stopped working- there is no sound. I did
what someone told me - I went to manager and I looked at sound and there is a
rpoblem with the Audio 97 Realtek- there is a yellow sign there. I wasted my
time with Acer, they did nothing. I paid for something and I got no help from
them. Please help me.

Reinstall the sound card drivers. Get them from Acer's tech support website
for your specific model machine.

David B.

Visit Acer's website and download the proper driver for your model and
install it.

While the solutions offered by Malke and David B. should have
worked, perhaps it might be worthwhile to do a little checking.
Open bios setup and verify whether or not the onboard sound is
presently enabled. While there should not have been anythiing to
have disabled one, one can never be sure.

But if the onboard sound setting is enabled, then one must think
that the problem may be with the onboard sound chip itself. Be
very precise in detailing the information to tech support. This
situation might result in a warranty replacement...something that
Acer might not really want to do.

Hi not to sound stupid- but where would I find bios - I will check that- but
I am not totally computer literate

You need to enter the BIOS when the machine is starting up. You need to
press a key such as the Delete or F10 key (may be different for your
particular PC - refer to the computer's user manual).

The manual should also have the instruction for checking and changing
options such as the on-board sound. If you don't have the user manual,
perhaps Acer's website would have a PDF copy; just search for your computer
model on their site, or look up this issue in their knowledgebase/FAQ's.
