SP2 pop-up blocker does not work

I enabled the popup blocker in my xp-home sp2 and did not allow any site to
give popups, but still all sites allow popup and the icon at the bottom of
the browser shows: pop-ups were allowed.

In addition to the solutions posted by Microsoft on their Help & Support
site, I would add: switch to a non-Microsoft browser such as Mozilla
(http://www.mozilla.org), that offers real pop-up blocker prevention,
and that does not support ActiveX.

Jeeze I lost it way back after someone else gave me those frame avoiders.
