SP2 Access is denied

During SP2 download I receive the "access is denied" message. i tried the
microsoft check for the registry permissions and everything is ok. however,
here is what I see in the log - which appears to be a different problem.
There are more of these failure lines - but I didn't want to make this too
long.

Any suggestions?
 
How are you getting SP2,downloading or from windows update.I'd imagine
the 1st,if thats the case,looks as though some prerequistes or unfinished
updates need to be completed first.Why not have windows update do the
updating auto...
 
I tried the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/873148
I also tried downloading from the website and from the live update.
I also noticed in the control panel add / remove programs that the list of
programs have doubled, and then include "hotfixes". When i click on them it
gives me a warning that they may already be deleted or have problems.
To me - I would need to unload SP2, go back to SP1?
