SP1 Support Reminder

A week or so ago, a new icon insinuated itself onto my notification area,
reminding me, every time I boot, that SP1 suport will be ending soon. Is
there any (safe) way to remove it permanently?

Install SP2???

This is the nagging that Microsoft is doing to ensure that at least 10% of
it's users pay for their OS twice.

Get SP2 which incorporates SP1 and solves your problem.

I might very well install SP2 at some point. But meanwhile is there a way to
get rid of this irritating icon which buzzes at me and shows its nag flag

the solution <IS> to install SP2. Quit whining and do it.
