My computer was formated a few days ago and now i have no sound and there is no update on microsoft updates. How am i going to get me sound back??

all i know is my computer is a ei system windows xp home edition. and how would you reload it? it doesn't say my sound driver in any list possible.

Click on Ian's link , look for this sentance ,

If you are unsure of your system specifications you can download SIW here which is a free tool that can give you all of the information you need to know.

and click on the word "here" which is highlighted in blue this will lead you to a site where you can get a tool to give you the information you need .
Have you looked at the "sound speech and audio devices" section in the control panel you will find if you click on "Start" You may just need to switch on a service .

If the pc has just been formatted, it sounds like you have not yet installed the audio drivers. If so we need to know what motherboard you have and if you have a soundcard or not.
