sound problems

The sound on my pc sounds like cartoon voices when
someone talks,also all music sounds like the chipmonks
singing.I dont know that much about pcs.I have an
Emachine with windows XP.Iwould really appreciate any
help you could give. Thanks

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the sound device, Action menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the
device drivers again automatically.
