I have just re-installed XP Pro and now I am unable to get any sound. I have an AC97 onboard sound, which is disabled in the BIOS. I have an internal Soundblaster Live 1024 sound card which I use. When I start XP I get the message saying "Unable to initialize sound" (or words to that effect). I have re-installed the drivers several times but to no avail. When I open control panel and then open Sound and Audio Devices all options seem greyed out. The sound blaster card shows up fine in device manager and there are no warnings or errors on the device. Oh I am logged on as administrator too.
I have also tried removing the sound blaster card and enabling the on board card, but still nothing.
Can anyone help please.
Thanks in advance.
