sound device hardware

I have somehow wiped the sound device hardware from my computer. I do not
have the disc to reload, How can I fix this problem and get sound back on my
system. Can anyone help

When you look in device manager does it have any unknown devices there?
If your computer is a name brand system you can usually download sound
drivers from the manufacturer site. If your computer is a clone you would
have to find out what kind of mother board you have(if it's intergrated
sound), or what kind of soundcard.

A good tool to let you know what kind of hard ware is in your box without
opening your case is Belarc Advisor.
