sound card problems

Can anyone help? My computer crashed and I lost everything. Although I have
been able to get it up and running again the only thing not to have installed
properly is the sound card. It is a C-Media AC97 audio device. I have tried
everything I can think of to put it right, even had a computer engineer to
look at it. It says " This device cannot start. (error 10). Please help
