SONY DCR-DVD101

Please help!

I have a Sony DCR-DVD101. This is the kind of digital
Video Camera Recorder that records directly to 3" disk. I
have a Sony Vaio Computer with a full suite of programs but
none of them work! So much for "media center computer"!
plus I have Windows XP media center edition. Seems to me
that all the programs are made for Mini DV cameras. The
ones that use Digital tape. By the way, I just bought the
camera and computer. and they are both SOny.

Anyway, I tried Moviemaker and it does not work either.
When I bought this camera I thought it would be cool to
just pop a disk in and then edit it on the computer. But
noooooo. Moviemaker doesn't recognize any of the files and
a pop up window says that it "does not support this file
type". I think it is .vob files on the 3" disk. Nor does
it work by using a USB cable directly from the camera and
trying it that way as an external device.

Does anyone know if Moviemaker (or any other editing
software) allows editing of the 3" DVD-R recordable mini
disks my camera records onto? and then I would like to
record the edited version onto a DVD.
