Some of My Pictures not opening

Recently some of my pistures have disappeared from my My Pictures Folder.
They were in there as recenty as Sunday 3/19 but today they are gone 3/23.
If I go into My Pictures, all of the folders are there and if I click on a
folder all of the thumbnails are there with the picture name, but the
thumbnails are not visible and if I click on one it says "Cannot open file
______"

The odd part is that of the 40 folders I have, 5 of them are in tact, but
the other 35 are unable to be opened.

Any suggestions?

Have you installed/uninstalled/updated
any software on your system?

Have you tried doing a system restore
to a date prior to the problem?

Try running a full system virus scan
using the most recent definitions.

John,

Thanks for the reply. I haven't installed or uninstalled any new programs,
and a virus scan automatically ran this morning. I just tried a system
restore to a date when I knew the pictures were there, and still, no luck.

Any other suggestions?
