SMS 2003 Remote Assistance

Tom

We have tried using MS AntiSpyware on numerous occasions
with our workstations, but SMS 2003 remote assistance
doesn't seem to be compatible. I have read in many places
where this "MAY" be fixed with the new release, does anyone
know for sure?

(I found this out when SMS 2003 remote assistance wouldn't
work; we uninstalled MS AntiSpyware and remote assistance
worked.)

Something else that may work is unblocking ports in MS
AntiSpyware, does anyone know how this would be done?

Thanks,

~Tom

Some problems with SMS are described here
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;892375 , however it
is not recommended by Microsoft to implement and test MSAS Beta 1 in the
"living production environment". Also this Beta 1 version is not provided
for corporations, but rather for home environments.

I'm not sure what the incompatibility is here. It isn't a matter of
unblocking ports, I'm quite sure. I'm wondering whether it is in some way
related to the issue with Media Center Extenders, which is in some way
related to remote desktop functionality.

This isn't an issue I've heard of before, and it isn't one I have a way of
testing myself. Looking at the expiration date of the current beta, I feel
reasonably sure we'll see something new before long, though.

I have not heard of this issue either. Bill is correct, it is not a port
issue as AS is not a firewall program. And we are aware of the expiration
date as well. :)
