XP + SP2 + SMS 2.0 = DISASTER!!

We have on our domain SMS 2.0 SP5 running. A few of our XP SP1a boxes have
the SMS Client Components installed, as should be.

BUT...with a few of the new XP SP2 boxes, I just can't get the SMS Client to
fully install. (SMS Components don't install in the control panel.) I have
the Firewall turned off. I have made all the changes necessary, to have SMS
see the XP SP2 client and do a full install of the SMS Client (I think....).
I changed DCOM to allow access to anonymous logons. I added ports TCP 135
and the following ports:

TCP 2701 Remote Information
UDP 2701 Remote Information
TCP 2702 Remote Control
UDP 2702 Remote Control
TCP 2703 Chat
UDP 2703 Chat
TCP 2704 File Transfer
UDP 2704 File Transfer

Added the following file to run as a service:

C:\Windows\System\When\unsecapp.exe

After doing all of this, I reinstalled 'clicore.exe' Remember, I have the
XP Firewall Turned off. Have File and Printer sharing enabled. Still no
complete install. What am I missing?

PLEASE HELP!!!!

hi courtney,
i think that this is SP2 xp, its stops alot of ports from being accessed, i
used to use a program called prorat for remote admin of my cousins comp (he
not very clever lol) and SP2 blocked this completely, sorry but sound to me
like reinstall is in order.

Re-install what? XP, or the SMS Server? And the problem is, that the XP
Boxes came with a Dell 'Recovery CD' so there isn't anyway I can roll back to
SP1a if I wanted to.

Any other ideas?

i hate them disks lol, did you not get an actual OS with the computer, if you
did you could try a format and reistall XP SP1 if not then try installing
simple tcp/ip services and print services for unix. the last 2 are long shots
but to be honest SP2 is the worst release Microsoft has done and i would not
reccomend anyone to use it. also have you asked the app vendor for all the
ports that have to be opened?
