Currently @ 2+ minutes for an XP (Pro sp2) shutdown. . .
Did my Google, Usenet and MSKB homework on slow XP shutdown:
-Clear Pagefile at shutdown turned off
-NVidia driver helper service turned off
-Unnecessary services turned off
The only tweak that helped was turning off Terminal Services but all the
geek sites said leave it on manual. So now back on manual and Terminal
Services
is always started while the stop option is now grayed out
Do I need the Terminal Services on a standalone PC with broadband cable?
dozing at the logoff screen
