computer shutdown

When I first installed xp, automatic turn off of power to
my computer worked fine when I shutdown xp. I had to do a
repair from the xp install disk because, for some unknown
reason, the boot files became corrupted. The repair was
successful but now when I shutdown xp, the automatic
power off to the computer do not work. Does anyone know
how to turn this service on again???
