Slow to download web pages on IE6 on 2nd networked computer

First PC running Windows XP pro and has no problems on Broadband Cable in
downloading web pages via IE6 real fast.

Internet connection is shared with a second PC via crossover cable. Second
PC has Windows 2000. This PC also had no problems with downloading web pages
until recently. A couple of web sites download okay via IE6, but 95%
download at a snail's pace, if at all. MS Messenger works fine.

I am stumped as to where to even start looking. Can anyone assist please?

Start by emptying your cache, in IE, tools, Internet Options, delete files.
 
I've done that and still no change. Thanks for the suggestion though.
