IE6 loads web pages via dialup link but not via LAN connection - just get
page unavailable / dns error message. Windows 2000, dhcp enabled and all
other shared LAN resources available to this PC. Other PCs work succesfully
connecting to Internet on the same physical link to the modem router. IE6 is
configured in exactly the same way as another PC also using Windows 2000 that
does not have this problem.

Help! I have run out od ideas to check / test

Have you logged on to the other link? E.g. the DSL link may be PPPoE
and thus still have a login procedure which needs to be done.

Does ipconfig /all (e.g. in a cmd window) show the DSL adapter is active?

Etc. Ask you ISP for help?

BTW the IE6 NG is not the best one for diagnosing connectivity problems
such as this. Cross-posting to Windows2000 Networking. I use XP and
am not familiar with W2K's tools. FWIW in XP netsh diag gui would be
an appropriate diagnostic tool to try.
