Hmmm weird!

As of late my system seems to be booting up really slow! It is all normal untill programs at start up start to load

I think it is my Norton Internet Security and And Norton Anti-Virus because after they have loaded on my start bar my system is all good and well.

What happens is that all the programs that I want to load at start up do (Quicktime, Adobe Photo Downloade, Volume) And if i click on anything before Norton loads up it takes really long and can crash my computer :S

As soon as Norton loads the system is fine! Really strange becuase I have never had this problem before and have been using Norton for over 2 years now.

Any ideas? I dont have a clue what could be up!

Ermm Norton shouldn't be the problem, because it is the 2004 version and doesnt use all this flashy crap that slows my parents laptop down to the max, it's been fine untill now. It might not be the problem :p

Not a lot really

Logitech Desktop Messenger, Microsoft Office and Symantec Fax Starter Eddition

All of which don't load up (afaik) at startup, unless i have the wrong folder

You don't need Messenger, Office or any Fax "starting-up" or loading at boot.

Norton is .......

Hmm surely there is another option? Norton has been fine for a good two years, kind of odd it just goes wrong all of sudden, it might not be Norton

Any other tips, might resort to uninstalling it to see if thats the problem, but may resolve it sooner if people have other ideas??

Last resort, go to start> run > type msconifg > startup tab. whats listed in there? Do a print screen. :)

... it might not be Norton, but, software does go wrong for inexplicable reasons and Norton is no exception. It's a rule.

;)

You shouldn't delete the prefetch as this can make things slower. ;)

Well first thing i see is three things starting up that are norton. ccapp, urllstck and sndmon.

apdproxy is related to adobe photoshop album, not needed.

reader_sl is acrobat reader rubbish. Foxit reader is an alternative to adobe and is not bloatware.

backweb-8876480 may not needed, its to do with logitech desktop manager, do you have that?

ctfmon can be disabled but not through msconfig as it will just repilcate itself.
Goto control panel> Regional and language options > language tab > Details > advanced tab > and check the box labeled 'turn off advanced text services' hit ok.

BUT, you should not disable any of the above via msconfig, find the programs and stop it starting at startup via the options if possible. Or in the startup folder.

*But dont worry about that lot for a minute, the below is the more important thing to look at....

Now the one in there that is bad is whagent. Spyware, good old norton right? :p http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000453.htm

Is webhancer listed in add and remove? If so uninstall it and then run highjackthis. (look in the spyware section of this forum for download details.)

Post the log here.

I have to admit, as soon as i instlalled PS, Flash and Fireworks the problem started happening

Maybe that is the culprit!

And yes I have Logitech Desktop Manager, never ever use it though, guess i need it for my mouse which is logirtech
