Slow response

I have Windows XP on my pc at work and lately I seem to be having problems
with my programs being slow to respond. This is mainly when I first start my
computer up when I come in in the morning. I usually start up IE because I
have to go online to check my e-mail, and lately when I go to do so, IE will
either take a long time to start or it will start and when I go to click on a
link it won't respond. After I restart IE or reboot my pc, everything is fine
and I have no problems. It's almost as if the pc takes a while to sort of
warm up. Anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this? I'd hate to
have to call a tech support person for something that might have an easy fix
(we're a small company and have to pay for outside tech support).

Hello,

If you are using IE6, try running it with add-ons disabled. Start Internet
Explorer as normal, Tools, Manage Add-ons, Enable or Disable Add-ons.
Disable all the add-ons and enable them one by one till the problem appears
and you get the culprit.

If you are using IE7, go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools >
Internet Explorer 7 (No Add-ons) to start without any add-ons. Close the
browser and see whether the problem occurs again.

If the problem does not occur again, start IE7, go to Tools > Manage Add-ons
and disable all the add-ons and enable them one by one till the problem
appears and you get the culprit.
