slide transition problem for animations

I have about 7 slides, each with different animation inserted. I created a
'fade smooth' transition for each. When I'm on the first slide and click on
the movie, it plays to the end and stops. Then I click to advance to the next
slide. Instead of going from the end of first movie to the next slide, the
movie refreshes to the first frame and then fades to the next slide?
Is there a way to stay at the end of each movie frame as I advance to the
next slide?
thanks,
wen

No, the only way to advance is by clicking on outside fo the movie or click
on the advance arrow on the bottom left. There are no custom animation added
to the slides, only the default 'play movie when manually clicked on'. When
the movie reaches the end in each slide, it stays at the last frame which is
what I want to do. Then when I go to next slide, the movie refreshes to the
start of the movie and then fade to next slide?

What if you check the option to "rewind when done playing" and animate in an
image -- the last frame of the movie -- to cover it while it's sitting
there? (This is just an off the top of my head thought.)

What type of video files are these? I'd like to see if I can repro here.

After the movie ends and you click the mouse to advance to the next slide.
But the moment it fades to the next slide, your movie jumps back to the first
frame. Is that what you mean?
If so, here's what you can do.
First, run the slide show and have the movie plays till the end. Press the
Print Screen button on your keyboard and exit slide show. This will capture
the last frame of the movie.
Now, click Edit > Paste.
Click on the picture (which is the last frame) to bring up the picture
toolbar.
Click on crop button and crop away unwanted area. (resize if needed)
Adjust the position of the picture so that it is right on top of the movie.
Now, click Slide Show > Custom Animation.
Select the movie, click Add Effect > Exit > Disappear.
Set the Start to "After Previous".
Select the picture, click Add Effect > Exit > Appear.
Set the Start to "With Previous".
Run the slide show and see if that is what you want.
