Slide Master - Layout

All - Is it possible and if so, how do you add another autolayout box to the
slide master? Just as an editable header appears on each new slide, I would
like to have an additional editable sub header appear just below this.

When I edit the slide master and I add a text box, it is not editable in new
slides. I cannot figure out a way to insert an editable field into the
slide master.

Unfortunately you cannot add extra placeholders in the master. Sorry.
