How can i transfer a background from one presentation to a totally different
presentation and then apply to all slides????????????????????????

In the first presentation clear everything from the slide except the
background. Save as type jpeg or png file NOT a powerpoint presentation.
Remember where this file is stored! In the new presentation viem the master
slide format > backgound In the drop down menu choose fill effects > picture
and browse to the saved file.

There are several ways you can do this:

1) Assuming that you use master slides: do a "save as" - rename your ppt and
save it as a .pot (Design Template). Delete all the content slides in your
pres. SAVE.
Now, when you reopen PowerPoint, this template will appear in your Slide
Design options. In PowerPoint 2002/2003 they appear in the Task Pane at the
right of your screen. Click to apply (the drop down menu for each thumbnail
allows you to be more selective).

2) Insert > Slides from Files. Insert all. Delete slides from "old" ppt and
Save As a new name

3) Again, assuming you're using master slides: View > Master > Slide Master.
Copy the master slides. Close our of master view and this presentation. Open
the one you want to apply the design to. Again, View > Master Slide Master.
Paste in the new masters. Delete the old.

There are other options, too. Let me know if you need more help...

Another way is to use the format painter. Add the slide with the background
to the presentation you want to change. Click on it in the Slide list.
Double click the format painter (the paintbrush icon). Click on each of the
other slide miniatures in turn.
