SideBySide Errors

Anyone know of a quick way of determining what is causing SideBySide
errors that are reported in Event Viewer? Computer is a Dell laptop,
Inspiron 1150, running Windows XP Media Center.

Have scanned the computer with anti-virus, anti-adware and anti-spyware.
Eliminated some minor adware and spyware that were detected but errors
continue to be reported. Does not list application(s) involved. Thinking
of re-installing Windows XP Media Center on the thought that user could
have sucked in some persistent malware that is drawing on the resources
within \Windows\WinSxS.

TIA.

A quick search of "sidebyside" says it's adware.

Symantec has removal instructions.

Thank you. Laptop is currently with user with instructions to back
up her important files. Should have taken examples but there were
just too many of them and I was planning to sanitize the laptop in
any event. However, my conscience dictated that I should at least
try one non-lethal remediation.

Ironically, I would have followed up on the Symantec link two years
ago or would have directly queried SARC. Just to show how much faith
has been lost in Symantec in this time span.
