About a month ago, I reinstalled WinXP Pro with sp2 <fully updated> and then
installed all my base programs. Everything was going along fine until about
a week ago. Now occasionally <about one in three time> when I go to
Start --> Turn off computer, then click Turn off computer, nothing happens.
I can click on Turn off computer until heck freezes over and nothing
happens.
I can then click on Restart and XP reboots, then shut down more than likely
will shutdown normally. This seems to have started after installing the
last set of XP critical updates. If memory serves, no other software has
been installed since the base installations and things were working fine.
Anyone have a clue how to fix this or what update may have caused it?
