"Show Window Contents While Dragging" option not sticking

Hi.
I have just got a new Dell PC 3.06GHz with HT, with Windows XP
Professional, 512MB, 120GB Hard drive, Intel Graphics Controller. I'm
trying to set it up, but when I go to the Display Properties in Control
Panel, then Appearance tab, click on Effects button and select the option:
"Show Window Contents While Dragging", it resets itself when I reboot the
machine. It does this whatever account I set it on. Is there any reason
why this is?

I just started having the same problem. I have a Dell Inspiron 8500,
running Windows XP Pro SP1, which I got in June of 2003. This problem
just started last week for me. Anyone else having this problem?
Anyone know a solution?

Apparently, this problem is caused by the Dell Media Experience
program. Check it out here:

From what I've seen in this newsgroup, this problem is related to the
Dell Media Desktop. I've been uninstalling it from my clients' Dells
with no ill effects at all.

The Dell Media Experience is one of the first things that I uninstalled for
my latest Dell PC. It's extraneous, not containing anything that can't be
accessed elsewhere from desktop shortcuts or menu items. No ill effects
were caused from the uninstall, and you pick up some system speed because
it's no longer loaded at startup.
