Setting IE as default Browser issues...

I'm trying to set IE as my defauly browser. I had Firefox originally and
removed it. I try doing it by going TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS>PROGRAMS and
ticking the box at the bottom which reads "Internet Explorer should check to
see whether it is the default browser". However upon restarting the browser
it doesn't come up with any message checking to see if it is the default
browser like it is meant to.

Sorry, I guess what your meant was you tried removing Firefox as your
default..well, you did say that, but I inferred that you removed Firefox
completely from your computer. If you still have Firefox, but don't want it
as your default browser, then go into the Firefox setting and change the
setting from within Firefox, and clean your temp files from IE and Firefox,
then go to Program access & defaults and set your desired default browser
there, as well, and then go back to IE and make your changes there.

Well IE sure isn't. When i click on my news ticker, or any hyperlink for that
matter, nothing loads anymore where as before Firefox would load. It appears
to have defaulted to nothing. So how do i get IE to be the default browser
for when i click on a weblink??? Bear in mind what i wrote above...
