Seti and XP Pro

I've got Seti running full time in the background and it bombs out on me
for no reason at all about every 5 minutes or so. I've got it set as the
screen saver to come in at 10 minutes after idle, as I did when I had it
running under Win 2K Pro too.

It doesn't give any clue about why it does it, apart from asking me if I
want to send a fault report to Microsoft each time.

Any one else had this problem or is it something to do with my setting. I
should add that this PC has only been running for 24 hours with a brand
new install of XP pro on a new PC and the same programmes installed as on
my Win 2K pro set up on the old PC.

I have had no problem running Seti with XP Pro for the last 6 weeks since
installed XP Pro. I have found however that Seti may not work properly when
run with other similar shared computing programs such as United Devices UD
Agent. The two programs just don't like to share the resources between
themselves and the rest of the computer. Sometimes Seti crashes and
sometimes UD Agent. You may want to check to see if you have any other
shared computer processing programs running at the same time and only
running one at a time.

Also, I do not use Seti as a screen saver. Have my system set to run Seti
all the time and connect to the internet whenever it needs to. The computer
itself is set to run all the time also; no hibernate, no HD shutdown, etc.

Well all the programmes I'm running with it are the same as when I ran W2K
Pro so it should (?) be OK.

I'll try that. I seem to remember in the distant past that hibernate
caused problems for other programmes.

No, still goes off in a sulk every 5 minutes. Weird! I'll try and contact
Seti.
